![]() I work 10 PM- 7 AM, I go home, fuck about until 12:30-1:00 PM then I go to sleep until 8:30 PM. You can't cut your sleep to the bone during the day, you absolutely must sleep your normal amount when you get off work. The one they give you is crap.Įveryone else has given good advice, but I'll add my 2 cents from working 10 years of overnights. Get an easy cut 2000, or a regular utility knife. Eventually, it will be done or the day over. Sometimes I get overwhelmed, but the important part is to grab a box and keep plugging away. If it paid better I could see myself doing it forever. I have not had any serious injuries at work and I think that's part of it. When I overdo it with work I try to get as much sleep as I can and pop a few L-Lysene. I try to get plenty of sleep and get enough protein. WATER - as others have mentioned it's bloody hot at night. ![]() The CAP2 rules follow during the first and last hours of your day though: keep your cardboard off the floor, talk to customers, don't pull pallets (if possible), etc. (I do this if I have a lot of mixed stuff) Walking back and forth from the action alley to the middle/end of the aisle will eat your time. Another way is to go down the action all and toss shit where it needs to go down the aisle. I pull the pallet from place to place by what's easy to reach from the top. ![]() Getting your freight close to where it needs to go is the first step to stocking fast. I always drag the pallets down the isles, leave my cardboard, and have headphones in whenever I feel like it. Once the customers leave you can run freight however you want pretty much. Either way, you'll be ok.ĭefinitely pace yourself save some energy for yourself at home. Either it will work out or implode in the manager's face. Just say "OK!" The only time I've ever seen people fired from my Walmart is from upsetting management. It depends on your manager whether or not you're expected to get much done. TLDR: Just getting a job at walmart first time ever, TAsalesfloor 3rd shift, what exactly should I expect and any tips? I had to quit my other job because it was 7 hours of no break constant running back and forth inside a kitchen that was 100 degree's at all times, I was a dishtank I'm not going to be lazy, or be a snail, but am I allowed to pace myself? ![]() I want to add that I love the idea of 3rd shift I have no problem with being nocturnalĪnother employee said on 3rd shift they work by their own rules and whatever you get done you get done it does not matter.
